Metro Board of Parks and Recreation Meeting Schedule

The Metro Board of Parks and Recreation meets at 1:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. Meetings are located at the Parks Headquarters, 2565 Park Plaza. Occasionally, meeting dates and locations may change, always call in advance to confirm.

Requests to appear before the Commission for action on a specific agenda item are to be received no later than two (2) weeks prior to the meeting for that item to appear on the next agenda. This two (2) week period will allow the Commission and the staff sufficient time to prepare for the meeting.

Signage Committee meets 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2008 Greenway’s Conference Room – 2565 Park Plaza
Agenda item: Councilmember Pam Murray requests permission to install a small monument at the corner of North 7th Street and Evanston Avenue to enhance and improve the community.

Acquisition Committee meets immediately following Signage Committee
Agenda items: Councilmember Pam Murray requests consideration of the board to create a homeless memorial garden to increase awareness of homelessness in the downtown area and to show respect to all members of society. Approval of proposed entrance gates, signage, landscaping easement or other permission for development of a road at Stone Hall (realignment of Stones River Road).
