Road Closings

TEMPORARY CLOSINGS  (November 20 - 25, 2009)

  • 2nd Ave S, Shelby Pedestrian Bridge to Molloy; 3rd Ave S, Broadway to Molloy; Almond Street, Demonbreun to Molloy; Demonbreun between 1st & 5th Ave; Shelby Pedestrian Bridge; 3rd Ave N, Charlotte to Union; Deaderick Street between 3rd & 4th Ave N. -- closed Sunday, Nov. 22 -- helicopter placing signs on Pinnacle Building
  • Dodson Chapel between Central Pike and Bell Road -- starting Nov 11, closed 8:30 a.m - 3 p.m. Monday-Friday for approximately 10 days -- installation of 24-inch water main
  • Harding Place, Belmont Park Terrace to General Lowrey -- closed nightly (6 p.m. - 5 a.m.) through Friday, Nov 20 -- water lines work
  • Harding Place, Lynnwood to Lindawood -- closed through Nov 27 -- water lines work
  • Peabody Street, Hermitage Ave to dead end -- closed until December 31, 2009

TENNESSEE TITANS GAME DAY TRAFFIC PLAN

For each Tennessee Titans' home game, and other special events at LP Field, Metro Public Works and the Metro Police Department implement a traffic management plan that gives priority to drivers who are planning to park on the stadium grounds, and public transit vehicles transporting spectators to and from the area.

Pre-game street closings begin three hours prior to kickoff, when access to all areas immediately surrounding LP Field is restricted to facilitate getting vehicles into their designated stadium parking lots.  At the same time, the Woodland Street Bridge is closed to vehicles, for use exclusively by pedestrians and public transit.  Post-game street closures are in effect for approximately 1 1/2 hours after the event is over to move stadium parkers out of the LP Field lots and onto nearby interstate routes.  Also, the Korean Veterans/Gateway Blvd Bridge is open to westbound only traffic until the lots are cleared.
