The following is notification to the public on activities at the combined sewer overflow locations in the Metro Water Services combined (storm and sanitary sewer) sewer system. Metro Water Services maintains and operates these facilities to reduce the potential for overflows and their impact to the environment. Updates to this notice will be posted on or around September of every year.

Article 1.3.7 Nine Minimum Controls Reporting
Because the nine minimum controls required for minimizing pollutants from combined sewer overflows are subject to change as a result of their own implementation and changes in sewer capacity and public education demands, the permittee will summarize its control measure activities in a written report for the benefit of public and regulatory review. The permittee shall post the report on its webpage at www.nashville.org/ws/index.html annually no later than the anniversary of the permit effective date.
For the period from September 2006 through September 2007, Metro Water Services performed physical modifications at the following combined sewer overflow locations:
- 1st and Van Buren (CSO ID # 018 on map) – addition of a 12-inch high weir to contain more flow in the pipeline and reduce the potential for overflow
- Benedict and Crutcher (CSO ID # - 023 on map) – addition of a 12-inch high weir to contain more flow in the pipeline and reduce the potential for overflow
- Fort Nashboro (CSO ID # - 023 on map) – plugged to eliminate as a discharge site
To ensure further reliability and to mitigate potential dry weather events, Metro Water Services also modified maintenance procedures as follows:
- 1st and Van Buren (CSO ID # 018 on map) – Visit site weekly or after rain
- Benedict and Crutcher (CSO ID # - 023 on map) – Visit site weekly or after rain event
- Fort Nashboro (CSO ID # - ___on map) – plugged to eliminate as a discharge site. No visits.
- Kerrigan ( CSO ID #19 on map) – visit site weekly or after rain event
- 1st & Broadway (CSO ID #020 on map – visit site weekly or after rain event
- Washington DC (CSO ID # 024 on map) – visit semi-weekly or after rain event
- Schrader Lane (CSO ID # 033 on map) – visit weekly or after rain event
- Driftwood (CSO ID #035 on map) – visit weekly or after rain event
- Boscobel (CSO ID #047 on map) – visit site daily and after rain event
