System Services
The System Services Division is responsible for:
- construction and repair of all water and sewer lines
- repair of manholes, meter boxes, and valve boxes
- cleaning of both sewer and associated lines
- tapping of water and sewer lines for new customer service
- detecting leak services for water lines
- televising existing sewer lines for elimination of leaks and failures
- televising new lines built under contract to eliminate surface and leakage into the sewer line.
Representatives handle water and sewer complaints and emergencies for the Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County area 24- hours, seven days a week. After dispatching the appropriate personnel, representatives track complaints from the time calls are received until jobs are completed. They also schedule taps for contractors who are tapping into MWS lines.
Fleet Management is responsible for the utility’s cars, trucks, and heavy equipment. Employees of this section also repair and maintain compressors, pumps, and rolling stock.
The Utility Locations Section locates water and sewer lines for all scheduled excavations within the system.
